Christmas gifts for fabulous travellers!

It’s only 12 days until Christmas and if you’re still struggling to find the perfect gift for the adventurous person in your life, then here is 10 great ideas worth wanderlusting over.

1. Snapchat Spectacles

Top of my wishlist this season are these fabulous glasses by Snap Inc, the makers of the popular image messaging app, Snapchat. They’re designed to work in conjunction with your social media account, capturing images and short videos, then storing them in the glasses until you’re next online. I think they’re brilliant and I love the iconic design and colourful options.

Currently, you can only buy them from vending machines in New York and San Francisco for $130 (£100) a pair but they have started popping up on eBay here in the UK too for £200+ each.

2. RiutBag Go, shuttle green 12-litre day backpack

After I had my bag opened three times by thieves in Barcelona this summer, I did a lot of research into safe backpacks for travel and discovered this little gem. Conceived by Scottish designer Sarah Giblin, the RiutBag has all its openings safely concealed against your back so no one can access your pockets whilst you’re wearing it. Genius! This year they launched their small 12-litre day bag that comes in a jazzy green or blue. The perfect gift for anyone going on a big trip in 2017.

Available direct from the designer for £29.

3. Anything from Mokuyobi

Mokuyobi is a fab US brand of gender-neutral clothing and accessories in super-vibrant colours and patterns. I love pretty much everything they make, especially their Mint jumper. All their products are made in Los Angeles so its kind of like what you wish American Apparel was.

Prices start from £33.

4. JBL Clip 2 Speaker

My JBL portable Bluetooth speaker went everywhere with me this summer: it was playing Whitney Houston as I packed up my tent on the last day of Glastonbury; it was pumping out Lady Gaga on the beach in Barcelona; plus I discovered it to be a really handy way to hear directions from Google Maps app whilst cycling around London. These speakers are very durable (I’m only on to my second one in six years and I frequently use it in the rain) and they have a great volume level and battery length. JBL’s latest design looks fantastic too: a choice of bright colours plus a built-in carabiner has made this handy speaker into a seriously stylish travel accessory!

Normally £49.99 but you can get one on sale at Curry’s currently for £35.

5. Lulu Guinness Travel Accessories

Dress up your luggage with these super cute Lulu Guinness travel accessories in her classic monochromatic palette with a dash of red lips.

Prices start from £25.

6. Fjallraven Kanken backpack in Lake Blue

These Swedish backpacks are super popular and they’re the perfect size for a simple weekend. Plus, this Lake Blue colour is so lovely and vibrant, it would go with pretty much anything.

Normally £80 but on sale at Open Air for £59.

7. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Warhol

I’m so in love with these iconic trainers! With sizes running from 3-13, they will fit with almost any wardrobe.

Normally £55 but currently £47 from Rubbersole.

8. Sass & Belle Adventure is Out There Hip Flask

The perfect stocking-filler for any adventurous soul in need of a cheeky tipple now and then.

Available from Sass & Belle for £7.

9. Napsack sleeping bag from Poler Stuff

I discovered these nifty little sleeping bags at my favourite travel store, The Brokedown Palace. Made by awesome Portland-based camping company, Poler Outdoor Stuff, these ‘Napsacks’ have a hoodie, armholes and can be unzipped at the bottom so you can actually wear it. How clever. Perfect for those cold mornings when you don’t want to get out of your tent. They come in a range of cute colours and patterns, including a really eye-catching collaboration with fellow Oregon company, Pendleton.

Prices start at £125 from The Brokedown Palace.

10. Eurostar voucher

Normally, a gift voucher sounds a bit unimaginative but with Eurostar it’s like handing someone a ticket and saying “go on an adventure”! With prices starting from £60 return to Paris, it’s a very affordable and stylish adventure too! Vouchers can be bought for anywhere between £10-£250 too, making it perfect for a stocking filler or a lavish gift.

Prices start from £10.
