It’s hard to imagine a more veggie-friendly city than Berlin: a vegan dream that leaves ethical eaters spoilt for choice with options in every corner of the capital. However, I was pretty surprised on my recent trip to discover there weren’t nearly as many gluten-free-friendly places as I imagined there would be. Few places mark GF items on the menus, with only one cafe openly offering GF bread (Cafe Oliv in Mitte) and I only managed to track down one totally GF bakery (Jute Bakery in Prenzlauer Berg). Not to worry because here’s a line-up of 5 great GF VG options in Berlin plus one I missed out on visiting!
